GENERAL OVERVIEW Stephen Black is President and Owner of S. Black Enterprise, Inc., a Harrisburg, PA based company specializing in single facility home construction, land development and remodeling. The company works within the 5 counties in Central PA. Prior to founding S. Black Enterprise, Inc., Stephen Black had been President, Owner and Founder of Stephen Black Builders Inc. in Lancaster, PA for over 34 years before selling to his son in 2012. Mr. Black served 14 years on the board at Moravian Manor Retirement Community and currently serves as a Trustee at Moravian Seminary and Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA where he chairs the Development Committee and sits on the Executive Committee for the College and served for more than 16 years. At the Lititz Moravian Congregation, Mr. Black has chaired the Facilities and Property Committee, chaired the Finance Committee, chaired the Personnel Committee, and the Building Campaign Committee. Mr. Black has chaired many capital campaigns at the Seminary College, the Moravian Congregation and the Manor. At the National level, Mr. Black served as the National Areas Chairman for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for area 3 in 2013, is chairman of the NAHB Single Family Builder Committee, and a member of both the NAHB Budget Committee and NAHB Executive Committee. At the state level, Mr. Black served as the 2007 President of the 12,500 employer member Pennsylvania Builders Association where he is a Life Director, having served continuously on the board since 1998. In addition, he has served on the PBA Executive Committee since 2003, and has chaired the Workforce Development Committee, the PA Coalition for Affordable Housing Committee, the PBA Personnel Committee, and the PBA Past President’s Council. Mr. Black has also served on the PBA Government Affairs Committee and the PBA Property Relocation Task Force.
Mr. Black is very active at
the local builders association as well. He served as the 2001 President for the
Building Industry Association of Lancaster, chaired many local committees and
was awarded the Builder of the Year Award at both the Pennsylvania Builders
Association and the Building Industry Association of Lancaster. |
