THOMAS MEAD

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Thomas Mead has over 35 years of construction related experience, ranging from being a “hands-on” project manager for major general contractors in California to his more recent experience as a senior construction executive, business development executive, construction manager, consultant and architectural design manager throughout California, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.  With a broad background in large, commercial projects ranging from office, hotels & resorts, multi-family residential, retail, industrial, biotech, institutional (large cathedral in Oakland, California, an historic renovation of a football stadium at the University of California, Berkeley, and a major presidential library and museum in California), he brings with him a diverse knowledge of all building types and construction methods.

Mr. Mead’s BA degree is in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.  After graduation, he worked for an architectural firm in Los Angeles before bringing his valuable background to the construction industry, where he has remained ever since.

In addition to his direct working knowledge of the construction industry, he has extensive business and community involvement in industry organizations such as the Urban Land Institute, SPUR (San Francisco Planning and Urban Renewal), the NAIOP, an Executive Board member of the San Francisco Council of the Boy Scouts of America, a Trustee of the University of California, Berkeley, a founding member of the College of Environmental Design Advisory Board of the University of California, Berkeley, Past President of the Board of Directors of Civicorps Charter School in Oakland, California, and a Knight in the Order of Malta, a Catholic service organization.

As a strong believer in the value of arbitration and mediation in construction-related disputes, he brings with him a strong construction background with an impeccable record of ethics and knowledge to achieve an equitable solution.  He is available to travel, both domestically and internationally, as required for CDRS business.
