NICK CASTJOHN

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Nick Castjohn is a Director in the Real Estate Advisory practice of an international consulting firm. His experience covers a variety of industries including construction, real estate services, insurance valuation, and alternative dispute resolution.

Nick advises on matters such as complex valuation-process assignments, environmental site assessments, property condition assessments, and expenditure modeling for capital improvement projects.

Prior to joining this practice, Nick operated a General Contracting firm focused on assisting clients with building construction, facility operations, insurance loss recovery, and alternative dispute resolution related to construction defect and contractual disputes.

Nick’s professional experience includes:

• Providing third-party reviews of appraisals, Phase I ESA, and property condition reports for commercial mortgage-backed securities lenders, life insurance lenders, and banks.
• Providing transaction advisory services that include fair value reporting, market analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence.
  • Offices, retail buildings, multi-family housing projects, hotels, and industrial assets.
  • Special purpose assets including portfolios of data centers, self-storage assets, childcare facilities, residential, and mixed-use developments.
• Providing strategic consulting services to review, document, implement, and assist clients with current capital project budgeting, forecasting, and construction administration. 
• Providing expert testimony in cases related to construction defect and casualty loss litigation.
• Arbitrating cases related to construction defect and contractual disputes.
