Residential and Commercial Construction
Hire and coordinate architects, engineers, and systems contractors to build residential and commercial projects in California. Skills include contract management, setting performance expectations, evaluating bids, value engineering, scheduling inspections, managing and controlling change orders, and monitoring construction schedules. Coordinate with subcontractors and design professional regarding inconsistencies in plans or specifications, and mediate issues that arise from poor workmanship, incorrect materials, inferior products, and substandard construction methods or practices. Process payment requests, review insurance certifications, address personnel performance issues and make adjustments to production schedules to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Bidding and Construction Management
Coordinate construction bidding, evaluate bids, oversee preparation and execution of contracts, represent owner during construction, review and authorize change-orders, analyze value engineering options for potential cost savings.

Director of Development, Weyrich Development, Paso Robles, CA 2000 - 2005
Responsible for design, land use approvals, community relations, and construction of major residential, commercial, and agricultural projects in San Luis Obispo County. In charge of acquiring all federal and state environmental permits needed to construct projects. Prepare project proformas for funding requests to financial institutions. Coordinate all consultants involved in project design, construction, and environmental assessment.
President/CEO, Engineering Development Associates, San Luis Obispo, 1984 - 2000
Responsible for project design and entitlement acquisition, staffing and personnel for 35-person, two-office engineering, planning and surveying firm. Develop governmental approval strategies and make all project presentations to boards, commissions and councils.
