CRAIG BRASFIELD

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Craig E. Brasfield has practiced law in all Mississippi State and Federal Courts for twenty-four years as a litigator in private practice as well as public service with the City of Jackson, Mississippi and the Mississippi Attorney General's office. While in private practice, he has handled construction related disputes or lawsuits in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. His public service as an attorney involved construction related administrative state and municipal agencies.

MEDIATION AFFILIATIONS

He is on the list of approved mediators for the Mississippi State Bar Association and the Northern and Southern Districts of U. S. District Court. He has completed basic and advanced mediation training.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. Brasfield handled unfiled disputes and litigated cases for a general contractor who specialized in apartment complex construction all over the South. These cases involved a variety of disputes and claims encountered in all phases of construction. All of these claims and disputes were successfully resolved without trial.

LEGAL CAREER/EDUCATION

Mr. Brasfield holds a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Mississippi and practiced as a city planner for towns in North Carolina and in the Governor's office of Planning and Coordination for the State of Mississippi prior to attending law school. He has tried cases in all State and Federal Courts in Mississippi and has argued appeals in the Mississippi Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a partner in the law firm of Forman Perry Watkins Krutz & Tardy with offices in Jackson, Mississippi; Houston, Texas; Dallas, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana.
