KEVIN F. SARR

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Kevin Sarr has been involved in the construction industry since 1979. Following graduation from High School, he found a job as a framing carpenter in Hartford, Connecticut. Since 1979 he has held a number of positions directly related to the construction industry. In addition to his carpentry jobs, he became a project manager for a carpet and tile company, started his own contract painting company, and in 1990 he became a Territory Manager for Capital Glass and Aluminum Corporation, a Salt Lake City fabricator of commercial glass products. Since that time, his passion for the building and design process, as well as livelihood have been tied to the Window, Door, Glass and Skylight industries. In February of 1998 he and his wife MaryBeth purchased Brother Sun, a distributor of custom fenestration products.

Education and Life Experiences

After graduating from Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, Connecticut, Kevin attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where he majored in English. He graduated from Wesleyan in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. At Wesleyan, he lettered in Football all four years, and was Co-Captain his senior year. At Wesleyan, Kevin took up the game of rugby, which became a large part of the next two decades of his life, and led him to live and play full time in New Zealand in 1984 and 1985. In addition to the many places in the United States he has played, he has toured Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand (again in 1989), Bermuda, Canada, and many of the islands of the South Pacific, including Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. Following these experiences, Kevin returned to New England, where he pursued a Master’s Degree in Education at Springfield College, Massachusetts. During this time, he concentrated his energies on counseling practices and techniques. He completed all academic requirements for a Master’s Degree in 1997. After having spent four years in higher education, he returned to the construction industry.
