GENERAL OVERVIEW

Mr. Hatchett has over 25 years’ experience as a Home & Commercial Property Inspector. In 2000, he was appointed by Governor Foster as one of seven inspectors from across Louisiana to start up the Louisiana State Board of Home Inspectors (LSBHI). He helped write the Rules & By-Laws, Standards of Practice & Code of Ethics.  He was instrumental in creating education requirements both for licensure and continuing education.  He served on the LSBHI Board for nine years and served as Vice-Chairman and Chairman. He is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and obtained the ACI professional designation. Mr. Hatchett has been a speaker and presenter at ASHI National Conventions.

Prior to becoming a Licensed Home Inspector, Mr. Hatchett gained construction knowledge and experience as a supervisor and manager with National and Regional New Home Builders, such as General Homes. It was this experience that he parlayed into Home Inspections.
He is the first registered Louisiana Wind Mitigation Surveyor and had some input into creation of the Louisiana Wind Mitigation program.  Wind Mitigation Surveys allow homeowners to get insurance reduction credits on their Wind and Hail portion of insurance.  He has been a presenter at International Hurricane Protection Association Conferences.

He has a B.S. in Business Administration from LSU.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Board of Directors of Warren Easton Charter High School (LA oldest public high school). He has been on the Warren Easton Board since the charter inception and Hurricane Katrina. Twice he has served as Foundation President/Chairman.
Board of Directors of Greater New Orleans Corvette Club (GNOCC).  He is a Level 3 (Advanced) NASA Road Course Driver and driven Corvettes on numerous tracks, including Daytona, Talladega, Road Atlanta, and Circuit of the Americas.
Licensed Pyrotechnician; Lead technician for Super Bowls, World Cup Soccer, Olympic Events, and hundreds of outdoor and indoor events.  35 years of experience.
Although, he does not currently fly, he has a General Aviation Private Pilots license.
