GENERAL OVERVIEW

George Rawson has been building for over 43 years and is a third generation builder building over 750 new homes. George has served as President of the Las Cruces Home Builders Association in 1982 and was President of the New Mexico HBA in 2001. He was recognized as Las Cruces Builder of the Year in 1982 and 1987 as well as New Mexico Builder of the Year in 1987.

He has diversified from residential construction to apartments, commercial buildings and leasing as well as land development. He specializes in concrete tilt-wall commercial projects and has built numerous large projects including two 66,000 sq.ft. state of the art self-storage facilities, the 10,000 sq.ft. Sonoma Ranch Club House, 11,000 church building and over 450,000 sq. ft. of commercial office and warehouse space.

George helped develop a new golf course community and 950 acres of residential and commercial property. His projects have won numerous awards from the National Association of Home Builders Sales and Marketing Council and the Seniors Housing Council. This includes active adult, age restricted community awards. He was featured in Commercial Builder Magazine in 2004.

He was appointed by New Mexico Governor, Gary Johnson, to serve on the New Mexico Board of Finance for 8 years. He has served on the Las Cruces Housing Authority for 5 years and was chairman twice, appointed by two different Mayors. He was also chairman of the City of Las Cruces Capital Improvements Advisory Committee on Impact Fees.

From 1984 to 1993 George was a member of the New Mexico Home Owners Warranty board. He was its Chairman for 2 years and served on the budget committee. In 1986 he served on the National Home Owners Warranty Western Zone Presidents Council and was elected as their chair in 1992.

George has been active in the National Association of Home Builders since 1979 and his resume with them includes:
