GENERAL OVERVIEW

 

Licensed General Contractor Residential and Commercial in State of Arizona since 1989.
Licensed Real Estate Broker in Arizona since 1979 received Sales license in 1976.
Licensed Residential General Contractor State of New Mexico 2010-2013

During 30 years of licensure have built over 1000 homes in Southern Arizona, over 75 were custom or semi-custom homes. The balance were production homes.

Completed more than 100 major home remodeling projects.

Completed more than 50 Commercial Remodeling and Tenant Improvement projects.

Managed the development of over 10 subdivisions from land purchase, through entitlement, to completion of the final home.

Pioneered the use of steel frame construction along with a post tension masonry wall system in southern Arizona having built over 400 homes using this method.

At the high point managed 20 employees and collaborated with two business partners, supervised all field construction utilizing over 30 different subcontractors.

Total dollar volume of the work completed is more than $150,000,000.00

Hosted talk radio show for one year in 1996 on KTKT 990 AM. On the show we discussed anything to do with Construction, Remodeling, Finance, Real Estate Sales, Including topics involving the Registrar of Contractors and the Department of Real Estate.

Have appeared a few times on Arizona Illustrated to discuss either Energy Efficient Building techniques, as well as special feature when we built a full masonry and steel home in the TCC arena.

Have been interviewed by print media on several occasions in regards to housing, construction or financing issues

Three years’ experience with a 3 Billion Dollar financial institution. As Assistant Vice President in commercial loan department as loan monitor, project manager and in some situations as joint venture representative.

Responsible for pre-loan project due diligence reviews which included borrower’s qualifications and experience to complete project, reviewed internal systems for project management and financial management controls. Complete review of project documents, plans, costs, Performa’s, marketing projections and physical inspection of the site.

After loan closing responsibilities included construction loan disbursements, documentation, inspections and necessary reporting of asset and borrower condition to senior management.

Project load average was 18-24 projects, loan volume $180 million to $250 million Individual loan size up to $33 million.

Successfully monitored, managed and reported on a personal high of 47 projects during a time of staff cutbacks.

Developed and completed a small master planned development that had large amount of negative press and problems with local government, $13 million retail land value.

Constructed and supervised 189 lot residential subdivision, $4.5 million retail value.

ACHIEVMENTS AND COMMUNITY IVOLVEMENT

Successfully owned and operated General Contracting Company for 30+ years

Awarded Custom Builder of the Year by Southern Arizona Home Builder Association (SAHBA) 2005

Severed as Chairman of SAHBA 2010, served on the executive board 2009 thru 2011

Currently serve as member of the Advisory Council of SAHBA 2012-current

Currently serve as Board member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), 7 years

Incoming State Representative for Arizona with National Association of Home Builders 2019

Currently serve as Trustee for the State of Arizona for NAHB Build PAC, 6 years

Currently serve as Chair of SAHBA PAC, 7 years

Active member of SAHBA since 1991

Active member of Tucson Association of Realtors (not involved in any of their volunteer structure)

Served as Co-Chairman of the building committee of Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging during their $13 million major addition and remodel of their facilities at the beginning of the decade.

Served on the Board at Handmaker for 4 years, served as Board Secretary 2002

Past Church, served as ordained deacon, elder, treasurer, trustee and president of trustees, Sunday school teacher, spent three years with one other member leading the church through a change in governance from member lead to elder lead.

Served as Volunteer Missionary on 4 occasions to 4 different countries, Israel, Kenya, Uganda, and Mexico.
