GENERAL OVERVIEW
Mr. Sherwood has Over 25
years in general practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Served
as municipal judge for 20 years, and as prosecuting attorney and county
counselor for 4 years. In-house counsel for Sherwood Construction for sixteen
years. Practice is approximately divided as follows: construction law (50%),
corporate (15%), negligence (10%), personnel and workers' compensation (10%),
environmental (10%), and other (5%). Has represented residential owners in the
past. Most recently, acted as a mediator/arbitrator in a case between a
residential homeowner and a developer/contractor who had constructed his home.
His current work history is Corporate Counsel, Sherwood Construction Co., Inc.,
1990-present; Partner, Gray & Sherwood PA, 1969-90; Municipal Judge, City of
Oswego, Kansas, 1969-90; Assistant County Attorney, Labette County, Kansas,

Alternative Dispute Resolution Experience
ADR participant as an
arbitrator, claimant, and respondent in arbitration proceedings for 12 years.
Mediator, both as participant and mediator for 8 years. Extensive experience
mediating consumer law problems in Small Claims Court in Sedgwick County for the
last eight years. As a representative of Sherwood Construction Co., Inc., has
handled 3 arbitrations ranging from $75,000 up to $1.8 million. As an
arbitrator, has handled 10 construction cases involving claims of $30,000 to
$250,000. Has been a sole arbitrator on an international claim based on a sales
contract.
