High School Graduate, Tuscaloosa High School, 1965. Attended University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, School of Engineering, 1965-1967. Transferred to Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama graduating in 1970 with Bachelor's Degree in Building Construction. Graduate work in civil engineering, University of Alabama. Selected as member of Sigma Lambda Chi, national Building Construction honorary, and Phi Kappa Phi, national scholastic honorary. Various short courses in construction related arena on an ongoing basis. Graduate, US Army Officer Basic Course, Medical Service Corps (Commandant’s List); US Army Adjutant Generals Branch Qualification Course; US Army Military Intelligence Branch Qualification Course; US Army Engineer Infantry Officer Branch Qualification Course; US Army Engineer Officer Branch Qualification Course; US Army Command & General Staff College (Commandant's List).

President, Richardson Home Builders, Inc. construction firm with work in the single and multi-family residential and light commercial areas, located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Responsible for all phases of activity, from land acquisition through construction of homes, apartments, offices, and other buildings with emphasis on custom housing. Licensed real estate broker, State of Alabama. Licensed Master Plumber, State of Alabama. Licensed general contractor, State of Alabama. Licensed Home Builder, State of Alabama. Code consultant and advisor (construction litigation).

Served in all positions of leadership in the Home Builders Association of Tuscaloosa, culminating as President in 1991. Chaired local Government Affairs committee (1992-2005). Currently serving on local Board of Directors (Life Director), and chairman of the Construction Codes and Standards committee 2006-2013.
