CARTER FERRINGTON

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Carter Ferrington has extensive experience in the field of mediation and arbitration. He has worked with parties in well over 1,000 ADR disputes over the past 10 years. In 1997 he was employed by the Council of Better Business Bureau’s mediation and arbitration programs and (while continuing as a BBB arbitrator) has since gone into private practice. A public housing policy expert, he has represented developers, architects, real-estate investors and homeowners. He also worked for MIGHT, a French-owned hydroelectric power plant developer. Carter has a law degree from Howard University, and a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE

Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau AUTOLINE and CARE programs since 2001. Case Specialist for the Council of Better Business Bureaus from 1997 to 1999. Represented clients in mediation, arbitration and administrative hearings since 1999.

CONSTRUCTION, LEGAL AND REAL PROPERTY EXPERIENCE

Carter worked with developer, investor, contractor and other clients as an Attorney, Realtor®, project manager and property manager. Has represented parties in a variety of disputes involving real property, construction, acquisition and development.
